From a weekend idea to a daily tool

The Classroom Group Generator was born from a simple observation during weekend community service in India. Saswata and Suprity, a couple, spent their weekends teaching local children about various career paths and life skills. Most activities were group-based, and they found themselves spending valuable time dividing students, assigning groups, and managing logistics - time that could have been spent on actual teaching.

What changed

From idea to launch

Recognizing this challenge wasn't unique to them, they decided to build a solution. On March 2, 2025, they launched the first version of Classroom Group Generator - a simple tool to quickly create random student groups. The response was overwhelming. Today, over 10,000+ teachers worldwide use the platform, with about 30% being highly active users.

What it became

From tool to platform

What started as a weekend project to solve their own problem has evolved into a comprehensive platform. Through continuous feedback from our dedicated teacher community, we've transformed Classroom Group Generator into a full-featured classroom management tool that saves time, enhances collaboration, and creates more engaging learning experiences - all at a minimal cost accessible to every educator.
